    Fabulous

The staff were really nice, the food was gorgeous, and the bar area has a beautiful ambiance which really makes you feel comfortable.

We were a little warm some nights, because the heating stays on all night and you can't vary the temperature of the radiator, but when we really needed it it was comforting to know that it was there as well, so this is not really a problem, just a thought.....

    Fabulous

Comfortable room, lovely food in restaurant and good value for money.

The room smelled of damp as there had been a leak, but the manager was more than compensating when this was brought to his attention.

    Fabulous

Quaintly old fashioned Inn in a picturesque area with good food, comfortable room and friendly bar with a roaring fire. The bar was busy and buzzing with both locals and guests. Reasonably priced beer.

The food and drink were good. Home cooked tasty meals served by friendly staff.

When we arrived, the hotel was closed, despite arriving within the checking in period. After numerous phone calls we had to wait for almost an hour, outside in our car for someone to come and book us into our room. The room was very cold and the radiator didn't work although the hotel staff did organise an electric heater for the room after we complained. The room was en suite and unfortunately smelled of toilet cleaner, which was so strong it disturbed my nights sleep and was still pungent even in the morning. Electrical wires hung from the bedroom ceiling and from the wall on the landing, which was quite bizarre. The room was advertised as 'super king or twin'. What we actually got was the two twins pushed together. As we are a couple this was rather uncomfortable and found we had to sleep apart in the same bed. We feel this room was over-priced and over-rated. The hotel staff were very apologetic and offered us complimentary breakfasts but, by the morning we had had enough and just wanted to leave, which we did.

    Very good

Staff were very friendly. Nice atmosphere in the bar. Good range of real ales.

There wasn't anything I didn't like really but I don't think it was worth paying £80 b&b for. I also though paying extra for breakfast at £10 per head was too steep. We ended up having breakfast in Porthmadog and paying less than half that for a good meal.

    Very good

The staff were friendly. There was a good supply of tea/milk etc on the room tray which was convenient for our needs, neither of us wanting to take up the additional cost of breakfast. The evening meal menu offered a good choice and was enjoyable.

Breakfast was not included in the room price, which at an additional charge of £9.99 per person would make it an expensive night's stay. We did have the option not to take up the breakfast which was convenient for us as neither of us are big breakfast eaters.

    Fabulous

Nice surprisingly large well decorated.Food was excellent.Room was clean and tidy.Food good service fine.No worries or concerns.Shame We weren't there on music night.

You can't help a pubs clientele but loud boorish woman made us choose to retire earlier than planned. Not pubs fault. Could do with a more apparent maitre'd in restaurant was left trying to work out who to ask.No real complaints would use again no problem.

    Fabulous

Welcoming and friendly, great value accommodation and meals.

The web site and actuality need reconciling. The web advised that arrival between 1400 and 2230 was acceptable, in fact the pub closes 1400 until 1730/1800 and the presence of someone to let you in cannot be guaranteed (this information is provided on the invoice on check-out). We arrived at about 1600 and there was no problem, the owner arrived within a couple of minutes of phoning and provided us with not only a key to our room but also a key to the pub's front door. No big deal just needs tidying up.

    Superb

Clean and spacious. Quiet. Helpful friendly staff. Good location. Comfortable beds.

Had to change rooms (because of previous bookings) for the 3rd night. The staff were very helpful about this but I thought the quality of the room I moved into, although ok, was not 4 star.

    Superb

Great location on the town square, parking in front of the Inn, good selection of other pubs and eateries in the area. Only 5 minutes drive to Porthmadog for the Highland Railway and the beach. Liked the black and white theme in the bedrooms which are very well appointed.

The lighting in the pub area is strangely dim which is part of the golden fleece theme of lighting in the ceiling, makes reading the menus difficult around the bar area.
